NBA Trade Rumors: Stephen Curry Upset Over Mark Jackson Firing! Will Warriors' Superstar Demand A Trade?

The rumblings have been confirmed. The Golden State Warriors have fired their head coach, Mark Jackson. The former Knicks point guard and NBA analyst leaves his first head coaching job with a 121-109 record.

It's not easy to fathom why a coach with a winning record was fired when there are many head coaches with losing records, but Chris Broussard of ESPN in a phone interview states that there were a lot of factors. Primarily, it's the relation with the Warriors management that has been publicized the last few weeks.

But the surprise was the Broussard has also mentioned some players accusing Jackson of favoritism, specifically towards Stephen Curry.

Stephen Curry is now the face of the franchise and his All-Star emergence has brought about the team's resurrection from mediocrity.

Now the superstar is upset. He clearly states in the San Jose Mercury News:

"I love Coach more than anybody, and I think for him to be in a situation where his job is under scrutiny and under question is totally unfair. And it would definitely be a shock to me if anything like that were to happen. I'm going to voice my support for Coach."

He continues: "What Coach has gone through this year has been unlike anything I've seen -- just the amount of distractions and the circus that's been around him and decisions he's had to make. We came into the season thinking this was a long-term situation, but obviously he's been having to answer these questions all year."

Stephen Curry has been a well-mannered player with no known disciplinary or off-court issues. This is probably one of the rare times that he has a strong emotional reaction.

CBS Sports however, stated that Jackson is not as immaculate as Curry pictures him to be:

He reportedly had issues with Michael Malone in 2012-13. Malone took the Sacramento Kings' job last summer. "He tried to get rid of assistant coach Brian Scalabrine this season, only to be rebuked by the organization. Scalabrine was later reassigned by the Warriors to coach the D-League affiliate in Santa Cruz. He allegedly created an environment in which assistant Darren Erman felt the need to record conversations happening around the team with coaches and personnel. Erman was later found out and fired, and has since taken a job with the Boston Celtics."

How long will Curry stay angry and will this lead to an ugly trade request? Probably not, but it will also depend on who the Warriors will hire. Golden State has always been in the trade rumor mill as they have a lot of assets and their team has fallen short once again. They were in the running for Dwight Howard last season although they needed to trade for him.

It was unimaginable for them to trade Curry, but what if a star like Carmelo Anthony would enter the conversation. It's far-fetched to say the least, but so was the Pau Gasol to the Lakers trade. What if the Lakers hire Mark Jackson and win the no.1 overall pick in the 2014 draft? These are just possibilities and speculation, but stranger things have happened in the NBA.
