Lena Dunham Book Tour ‘Incites Online Pandemonium’: ‘Girls’ Star To Visit 11 Cities In USA, Fans Can Expect ‘Oodles Of Special Guests'

Lena Dunham's book tour is already partly sold out! The creator and star of the HBO hit "Girls" will be hitting up 11 cities around the United States from late September to late October this year to promote her collection of essays "Not That Kind Of Girl".

"Thrilled to announce my upcoming book tour. Please join me & a slew of special guests," Dunham posted in her announcement on Twitter on July 15.

The New York Times reported that Lena Dunham's book tour Twitter announcement "incited minor online pandemonium", with advance tickets for the event at the Chicago Humanities Festival on October 6 selling out almost immediately. The finale of the tour in Brooklyn on October 21, featuring Lena Dunham's fellow "Girls" star Jemima Kirke, author Zadie Smith and the band Bleachers, sold out just as quickly.

Fans are in for a real treat with Lena's book tour, with the star's website saying that the events will feature "Lena reading from her book and answering audience questions, and oodles of special guests."

Some of the special guests announced so far include Carrie Brownstein from "Sleater Kinney" and the sketch comedy show "Portlandia", along with writers Mary Karr and Curtis Sittenfeld.

Lena Dunham's book deal was the topic of much discussion recently - the talented star received an advance of more than $3.5 million from Random House for her writing.

She was chased by publishers after she "circulated a 66-page proposal with color, illustrations and a humour that publishing executives predicted could produce another best seller like Tina Fey's blockbuster memoir, 'Bossypants'," said the New York Times.

On her literary roam around the country, Lena Dunham's book tour will visit New York City, Boston, Chicago, Iowa City, Austin, Los Angeles, Pasadena, San Francisco, Seattle and Portland.

'Not That Kind Of Girl' will be hitting shelves on September 30.
