Nokia Lumia 525 Review, Specs: Windows Smartphone Incl. 4” Display, 1 GB RAM, Dual-core Processor, 8 GB Memory, 5 MP Camera; Best Bet Against Android

Nokia Lumia 525 review, specs: Nokia’s new flagship model sports a Windows 8 OS, 4-inch IPS LCD display, 8 GB internal memory (expandable up to 64 GB), and a 5-MP autofocus camera, powered by 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus—the Windows mobile has gotten Samsung a run for its money.

After the release of the Lumia 520 last year, Nokia brought another challenger in the smartphone battle, the Lumia 525. And after a series of bench tests, critics, including the indianexpress.com, declared that the smartphone is something to watch out for.

If you’re looking for an alternative from the Android or Mac-running handsets, then try your hand at this baby’s specs.

DESIGN. In one look, we can immediately tell that the Lumia 525 is the spitting image of the Lumia 520. Both have the same weight (124 grams), dimension (4.72 x 2.52 x 0.39 inches), and overall design. However, upon carrying the mobile by hand, the smartphone’s mobile provides a better feel and finish. It used Lumia’s 520 plastic body and upgraded it for a better grip and more premium look.

DISPLAY. The Lumia 525’s 4-inch display sports an okay resolution of 800 x 140 pixels. It may not be the best screen resolution, but then it is still perfect for reading, playing arcade games, and watching videos. Users have to note that it is difficult to read the texts in the smartphone.

PERFORMANCE. Under the hood, the Lumia 525 has optimized the use of its 1GHz dual-core processor. After one of their tests, indianexpress.com said, “The phone did not show any lags when running several applications and switching between them.” The Windows smartphone works well enough to avoid reboots and shutters.

CAMERA. There is no improvement with the mobile camera as the Lumia 525 still has the same 5-Megapixel autofocus camera.

BATTERY LIFE. The Lumia’s 1430 mAh battery is quite impressive. You get to have 336 hours of standby mode, or 10.60 hours of talk time.

Retailing at a lower price of $173, the Lumia 525 is definitely not a bad choice if you’re looking for a fun alternative.
