Upcoming LG Phones 2014: This 'Mini' Flagship Is Not Small At All, LG Beat Now Official, Packs Midrange Specs, Costs Around $400 In China

After several leaks and rumored specs, one of the awaited upcoming LG phones for 2014 is now official.

According to a report by Android Authority, the Korean manufacturer has recently took the wraps off of its 'mini' smartphone, the LG G3 Beat.

Sure, it is not the G3 Mini, but based on its spec sheet, it sure looks like it. LG may have changed the name to 'Beat' because, let's admit, the device is nowhere in the 'mini' category.

In the report, some of the rumored specs panned out to be true.

The LG G3 Beat packs a 5-inch display compared to the 5.5-inch display of the LG G3, and it has a lower resolution as well (only HD or 1280 x 720).

Other specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset clocked at 1.2GHz  and 1GB of RAM which should be good for every day use, an 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot for storage expansion.

Additional specs include an 8-megapixel camera with the same laser technology of the LG G3 which creates better shots and makes focusing easier and faster. Powering the device is a 2,540mAh battery and hopefully Android 4.4.2 or 4.4.3 Kit Kat out of the box.

In the report, the LG G3 Beat is now official in South Korea and should be available in other neighboring Asian markets in the coming weeks. In China, the pricing of the LG phone would be roughly $400, which is still pretty good for a midranger from a decent manufacturer.

Now that the LG G3 Beat is already official, one of the awaited and upcoming LG phones for 2014 is the LG G3 Prime which is tipped to be an even more monstrous version of the G3 flagship. We'll bring you all the latest rumors and details on that Android phone in the coming days.
