Pau Gasol Transfer To Chicago Bulls Will Make The Most Impact! Champion Center Could Be The Better Addition Than Carmelo Anthony!

Pau Gasol, aside from LeBron James, was declared the most intriguing free agent signing of the offseason. Despite his age, experts believe that he will make a significant impact on his new team, the Chicago Bulls.

NBA.com recently discussed the question on which free agent signing would be the most interesting (aside from the obvious answer, LeBron James, of course). Pau Gasol had the most votes among their panel.

"Jeff Caplan, NBA.com: Easily Pau Gasol. He's been in such a beatdown state the last two years on bad teams and under a coach, Mike D'Antoni, who had little use for him. Gasol should be happy and energized once again playing on a team that can contend for the East crown. Plus, the Bulls will make great use of his low-post scoring and passing. This should be fun to watch."

Pau Gasol has had a chip on his shoulder ever since they tried to trade him for Chris Paul in 2011. It was very clear that he was not happy with the move. Since then, he was dogged by trade rumors as well as brushes with the Lakers' last two coaches. Now, he will be joining a team that really wanted him, with a coach that the entire league respects. We can finally know just what Pau Gasol is all about.

"Lang Whitaker, NBA.com's All Ball blog: He didn't get the largest contract, but I really think Pau Gasolcould be one of the most impactful free agents of the summer. He's not the same defender he was a few years ago, but Tom Thibodeau is the perfect coach to be able to gameplan around that. And it should be on offense where Gasol makes the biggest contribution - he and Joakim Noah are probably the best-passing big man combo in the NBA, and with Noah setting up at the top of the key, Pau's beloved low post will be open for him to do work. Most importantly, with Derrick Rose returning, the Bulls should finally be past the offensive malaise that has plagued them for years."

The Bulls will feature Pau Gasol unleashed, and the Spaniard knows it. He has mentioned that he wants to play for a contender, but he did not take the Spurs or even the Thunder's offer. That was less money, and probably less of a role on the team. However, he also did not take the Lakers $ 9 million/year offer for the Bulls contract which would pay around $ 7 million. The Bulls offered the best balance: they were contenders since they are in the East, and they would also need him to play a significant role.

Pau Gasol might make a bigger impact than we expected with Chicago. Perhaps, in the long run he will be a better addition than Carmelo, since they did not need to lose any good pieces to acquire him. Also, he would not disrupt the team's offensive flow.
