‘If I Stay’ Movie Soundtrack To Be Released Mid August! Two Versions Of Albums With Adam And Mia’s Pieces To Come Out

Since Gayle Forman's book follows the lives of two aspiring musicians, fans cannot help but be excited for the 'If I Stay' movie soundtrack list. WaterTower Music has confirmed that the exact date for release would be August 19.

The 'If I Stay' movie soundtrack list will be released three days before its scheduled theatrical release. In the movie, Chloe Grace Moretz plays the role of Mia, a teen cellist who dreams to enter the Juilliard music school as per the influence of her rocker father.

Jamie Blackley plays the role of Mia's boyfriend, Adam, who is the vocalist and guitarist of a rock band called Willamette Stone. Director R.J. Cutler knew all along that music would be integral to the film.

"It was immediately clear to me that If I Stay needed to feature a soundtrack assembled from a wide variety of styles and genres and would meld together to form an emotional, symphonic whole. The songs would reflect Adam's roots in punk music and his contemporary sensibility, as well as the classical canon that Mia would master to apply to Juilliard. As I would often tell the cast and crew, in the world of If I Stay, music is the air that people breathe," he said.

Author and executive producer Gayle Forman said that the music gave the story a "whole new dimension."

Fans were able to vote for the first song they wanted to be released early. The chosen song is "Heart Like Yours" which is now available at iTunes.

There will be two versions of the 'If I Stay' movie soundtrack list. The first one is a CD with fourteen songs and the other one is a digital deluxe configuration containing eighteen tracks. The digital deluxe version will have additional Willamette Stone songs and cello pieces performed by Mia in the film.

The 'If I Stay' movie soundtrack is now available for pre-order.
