‘24: Live Another Day’ Season 2: Movie Idea Is ‘Still Out There,’ Would A Season 10 Renewal Leave Out Jack Bauer In TV Show?

"24: Live Another Day" season 2 rumors are running rampant amongst Jack Bauer fans, but executive producer Jon Cassar revealed at Comic-Con 2014 that the idea for a "24" movie is "still out there." Another possibility? That a "24" season 10 renewal can happen, but perhaps without the infamous Jack Bauer.

According to the Los Angeles Daily News, neither Kiefer Sutherland (who plays Jack Bauer) nor Cassar gave a definite answer on whether or not "24: Live Another Day" season 2 was in the works, leaving fans to hope that they'll one day see Jack Bauer in the TV show again.

"We're still talking about the movie," Cassar added. "It's still out there. So, that's good news."

The fact that producers let Jack Bauer live in the "24: Live Another Day" finale means that he could come back for a season 2 - or season 10 of the whole "24" franchise. However, Breathecast.com reports that producers stated on June 13 that they are open to a Bauer-free "24," with the "Live Another Day" series potentially continuing with Yvonne Strahovski replacing Sutherland (Yvonne portrayed CIA Agent Sarah Walker in the NBC television series "Chuck" and Hannah McKay in the Showtime series "Dexter).

FOX CEO Peter Rice recently said that "24" has "many more stories to tell," and while no plans are currently in place, he intends to "sit down and talk to the creators" about season 10.

As we previously reported and according to The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Manny Coto is open to the possibility of bringing Jack Bauer back for "24: Live Another Day" season 2. All he and Cassar need is a great storyline.

"All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That's what got us excited about doing this season," Coto told THR. "I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen - and that's definitely up in the air - would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack's character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season."
