Amazon Fire Phone: The Unique Smartphone You'll Never Need

The Amazon Fire Phone was announced more than a month ago, and it is now available for purchase directly from Amazon. But while the phone is certainly an interesting device with its unique features, those may not be enough to justify the amount of money you will need to spend to get it.

At Amazon's store, the Fire Phone retails at $650, and it is only available through AT&T, which may not be a problem for some consumers.

The phone itself has some really cool and 'revolutionary' features no manufacturer has yet included in their smartphones. One of these features is the Dynamic Perspective which uses four front-facing sensors in order to detect where your eyes are currently looking on the screen's surface.

There are two ways to change the screen's perspective - either tilt the phone, or take a 'peak' by looking at a particular side of the screen from a certain angle. It certainly helps that the phone is easy to hold and is pure solid, though some people may find it too heavy.

At the back of the phone is the 13MP primary camera that is capable of running the Amazon app Firefly. This app uses the camera to detect a particular object it is currently 'looking at', and then searches Amazon's database for the product name, as well as the pricing of course.

To keep it short, Firefly will help you buy more products from Amazon in spite of the fact that you already spent $650 for the phone alone.

As far as specs are concerned, the Fire Phone boasts respectable ones. The device packs a 4.7-inch display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 800 chipset, either a 32GB or 64GB storage, a 2.1MP front cam, a 2,400mAh battery, and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean which is heavily skinned by Fire OS.

Basically, the phone is not the primary product here, but Amazon itself. It aims to sell a smartphone that will allow its users to spend and buy more from Amazon, through the built-in Amazon Prime feature that comes with the device.

If you are the type of person who can handle all the impending bills of buying from the retailer giant, then there is absolutely no harm in getting the Fire Phone.
