Manny Pacquiao News: Opponent Chris Algieri Already Eyeing Mayweather Bout, Confident He'll Win Over 'Pacman'

The latest Manny Pacquiao news has the former 8-division world champion up against undefeated Chris Algieri in a November 22 bout in Macau, China,

Algieri, almost unknown among the boxing elite prior to his match with Ruslan Provodnikov wherein he won via split decision to claim the WBO junior welterweight crown, has been seen by boxing experts as too experienced and not enough to be with Pacquiao in the ring.

However, the 30-year-old New York native said that he is already eyeing a Mayweather bout right after the November fight with the Filipino Champion.

If that's the case, then Algieri is pretty confident that he will win against Pacquiao, whose style of play is said to be similar to Provodnikov.

In an interview with Newsday, Algieri pointed out his advantage against the more experienced Pacquiao.

"I said before the Ruslan fight that he's never fought someone like me - someone who's long, tall, strong and athletic with good boxing skills," Algieri said. "Neither has Manny."

The 5'10" Algieri then insisted that while he is only the second biggest fighter Pacquiao will ever fight (the biggest was Antonio Margarito, 5'11") he has a different style that will give the former pound for pound king a difficult time.

"Guys who move, guys who have angles, guys who are stylish boxers, he has trouble with. I don't think there are a lot of guys who do it better than me in the world right now."

On the other hand, the Pacquiao team is also confident that Algieri will only be child's play for the 35-year-old fighting congressman. However, the Filipino boxer's team has yet to undergo intensive training as preparation for the upcoming bout with the confident Algieri.

The Pacquiao-Algieri bout will be held in Macau on November 22.
