Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: Is The Desire 610 The Best Midranger You Can Get Right Now? Available Through AT&T For Only $0.99 On 2-Year Contract

There are a number of upcoming HTC phones for 2014 which are definitely worth the dime especially the One E8 which is a plastic version of the HTC flagship with a better 13MP primary camera. And then there's the recently launched J Butterfly which gets a waterproof body, the same primary shooter paired with the One M8's depth sensor.

But just in case your budget is not yet ready for the big boys, and you are an AT&T subscriber, then you may want to check this midrangers.

Announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, the HTC Desire 610 clearly has its design inspired by the One M8 flagship. However, that's where the similarities end.

The Android-powered smartphone gets a polycarbonate plastic body instead of aluminum, and a smaller 4.7-inch display with poor qHD (960 x 540) resolution.

On the inside the Desire 610 runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, which is pretty decent, plus there is a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB of RAM to take care of all the processing needs.

Behind the device is a good 8MP primary camera with LED flash, while a 1.1MP unit graces the front of the device.

In case you are already eyeing this product but you can't be sure until you see the price, it will be a sigh of relief to know that the HTC Desire 610 is now being offered by AT&T on a two-year contract, and you only need to pay $0.99 to get it.

Of course, the local carrier also offers its AT&T Next Installment plan where you can get the device for free upfront, but you'll need to pay $8.34 for the next 24 months, or 20 monthly payments worth $10.

Check out AT&T's website now to grab this good-looking device with respectable specs.
