Samsung Galaxy S3 Update: KitKat Slowly Making Its Way To Older Android Mobiles; ‘OK Google’ Voice Command Improved

Samsung Galaxy S3 update: After its release last November 2013, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS should has made its way to not only new devices, but also to older units as well.

However, it turns out that older Android smartphones and tablets are just starting to receive the update. Eyeing to be out within these months, the latest version will boost Samsung’s dialer, camera, and "OK Google" voice command.

However, the South Korean based company also confirmed that the Galaxy S3 GT-i9300, the 1GB non-LTE model, will not be getting the update due to “performance reasons,” according to Notebooks.com. This is a huge disappointment for many users, but Samsung is said to stick to its decision.

We are still waiting for further news on the Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update. As of now, Vodafone Australia confirmed that it will be providing a Galaxy S3 Android 4.4 KitKat update. This is big news for millions of other Android users all over the globe. Vodafone Australia’s statement indicates that the update is bound to land to other Android smartphones in the future.

Only a few carriers like the Vodafone Australia have confirmed to offer the Android 4.4 KitKat upgrade for the Galaxy S3.

Meanwhile, Rogers, a Canadian carrier, also claimed that the Android OS update will be coming soon. But in its statement a few weeks ago, Rogers said that the release dates are still yet to be confirmed.

There are also rumors of the release of Android’s new OS, either the Android 4.5 or Android 5.0 with the launch of the HTC Nexus 8 tablet. This might even be released against the upcoming Google I/O.
