Upcoming Android Phones 2014: Xiaomi Sweeping The Android World By Storm, Beats Samsung As Top Phone Vendor In China

The Xiaomi Mi4 is one of the upcoming Android phones for 2014 that will certainly get a huge following from Android fans.

Ever since the Chinese manufacturer launched the Mi3, Android fans have already been looking out for the company's upcoming smartphones.

Xiaomi prides itself in developing high-quality smartphones with incredibly affordable prices. To give you an example, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 packs a Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM, a display with Full HD resolution, and a 13MP primary camera. It costs more than $700 when it was first announced during the IFA event in Berlin last year.

In comparison, Xiaomi's Mi3 gets all of those specs, 2GB of RAM, Snapdragon 800, FHD screen, 13MP primary camera, but at a much lower cost. The Android-powered device only costs less than $400 when it was announced, and right now that price has been cut down to just $250 for the 16GB version.

No wonder Xiaomi will be following up its success with the Mi4, which promises to be just as powerful as the top smartphones today such as the LG G3, HTC One M8, Sony Xperia Z2, and the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Just a few weeks after Xiaomi's newest flagship has been announced, Xiaomi has already wrecked havoc in terms of sales. In a report by GSM Arena, the Chinese startup has been the top smartphone manufacturer in China, as said by market research firm Canalys.

The numbers showed smartphone sales from April to June, with Xiaomi leading Samsung in the mobile phone race. Since its rise to power in the Android realm, Samsung has not relinquished its crown as the top mobile company in China for the past two years, so this is definitely a cause of concern for the Korean giant.

Its uninspiring sales for the previous two quarters certainly do not help Samsung in its goal to dethrone Apple.
