Barclays Premier League: Facundo Ferreyra completed the Newcastle lineup

The move of Facundo Ferreyra has completed the lineup of Newcastle United. He transferred from Shakhtar Donetsk on a season-long loan; it is their seventh signing of the summer.

The 23-year-old striker, Ferreyra, scored six times in Europe for Shakhtar. He and his loan to St. James' Partk include a choice to buy at the end of the 2014/15 season. Ferreyra has joined his new Newcastle team-mates in Germany as they contribute performance in this weekend's Schalke 04 Cup.

Captain Fabricio Coloccini, one of the Newcastle team-mates of Ferreyra to be particular, lend his hand in helping the friend and compatriot in persuading the desire to come to the club.

"I like the Premier League and when I knew that Newcastle was interested in me, it was a very easy decision to make," Ferreyra told nufc.co.uk.

He added: "I spoke to my friend Fabricio Coloccini, and when he told me about the Club, I didn't need to think twice."

The striker played for Banfield and Velez Sarsfield in Argentina and was hailed as the leading scorer in the league for the latter back in 2012. Right after blending in Shakhtar last July 2013, Ferreyra attained six goals in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League last season.

He will be joining the midfielder Jack Colback, strikers Ayoze Perez and Emmanuel Riviere, attacking midfielders De Jong and Remy Cabella and defender Daryl Janmaat. As the Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was happy to add one more on his striker to the raft of the summer signing.

"Facundo is someone we know on a number of levels, including his friendship with Fabricio and we think he could be a big success here at Newcastle," the Newcastle United manager. "This is a player who has played at the top level and is highly regarded in Argentina."

"He has tremendous potential and hopefully he can realise that here at Newcastle United."
