iPhone 6 Release Date Tipped To Be Closer To Rival Galaxy Note 4, To Launch 10 Days Earlier

Just a day after Samsung sent invites to its Unpacked 2014 event for the unveiling of its Galaxy Note 4 phablet, a new rumor claims that Apple has reportedly confirmed that the iPhone 6 release date would be on September 9.

According to a report by GSM Arena, tech website Re/Code reported that Apple will host a big press event on September 9, and most of us would agree that it would be the highly anticipated iPhone 6. 

Unfortunately, until now we cannot confirm whether the Cupertino giant will launch the two sizes of the upcoming iPhone 6. 

For the past several months, reports have confirmed that when the iPhone 6 release date kicks in, we won't see just one, but two versions of the smartphone - a 4.7-inch model and another that packs a much bigger 5.5-inch screen which is safely in the phablet category. 

It is interesting to note that prior to the report, most tech people thought Apple would unveil its priced smartphone by mid-September, and some claimed it to be on the 19th, a Friday, with the iPhone 6 sales beginning immediately over the weekend. 

Yesterday, we received reports that Samsung's 5.5-inch Galaxy Note 4 will be unveiled on September 3, while its iPhone 6 rival, the Galaxy Alpha with a metal frame and 4.7-inch display would reportedly make its debut next week. 

Could it be that Apple moved the iPhone 6 release date to an earlier time to prevent Samsung's new devices from getting the attention of the entire market? 

Specwise, the iPhone 6 is certainly going to be a beast, though recently there have also been rumors pointing that the 5.5-inch iPhone 6 phablet would get higher specs than the 4.7-inch edition, and released at a later date. 

But now that the initial iPhone 6 launch would be on September 9, we could see the bigger iPhone be launched much earlier as well, probably October.
