Chicago Bulls Roster Will Be More Than An Elite Defensive Team Next Season, New Acquisitions Expected To Make Offensive Impact

The Chicago Bulls roster is better than in recent years, and that's even without former MVP Derrick Rose on the table.

Windy City has certainly upgraded its wing and power forward positions coming into the 2014-15 NBA season.

In Rose's last full season, the only Bulls players who can score alongside him were Carlos Boozer and Luol Deng, but as Boozer's liability on defense became more apparent, and Deng's usability exploited in the past twwo seasons, Chicago will need new faces to compete at a higher level.

Insert Pau Gasol as possibly Joakim Noah's passing-mate down low and the Bulls have added a new dimension in their play. In contrast to previous seasons where the ball often comes from the perimeter, and then inside, the Bulls can now make plays within the shaded lane with two elite forward/center passers in Gasol and Noah.

And just in case both will have a difficult time penetrating the inside (which is highly unlikely), Chicago now has a ton of new shooters waiting on the weakside. That includes the top scoring college player last year in Doug McDermott, Euro Star and stretch four Nikola Mirotic, and the new-found confidence of sophomore Tony Snell who just wrecked defenses during the Summer League in Vegas.

While the Bulls already have an offensive juggernaut, one of which is newly-acquired guard Aaron Brooks, Chicago will still primarily be a defensive-minded team especially with head coach Tom Thibodeau leading the squad.

The Bulls still have elite wingman defender Jimmy Butler as well as emerging star Taj Gibson, who would most likely be on the starting lineup if not for Gasol's arrival. Still, Gibson can either pair with Noah or Gasol, which just shows how deep the Bulls bench is.

Oh, before we forget. Rose will be coming to the season with a renewed confidence in his health, and better basketball IQ in terms of controlling his explosiveness in the court.

It will certainly be a good season for the Bulls.
