Mariah Carey Drops Randy Jackson as Manager After One Flop Too Many; Mariah Carey Might Be Moving Back to Def Jam?

Mariah Carey fired Randy Jackson as manager and has been working with Def Jam's president Kevin Liles. Jackson and Carey haven't shown any problems in public, like the famous Mariah Carey Nicki Minah feud on American Idol.

In 2012, Chris Lightly, Mariah Carey's former manager, killed himself after a reported fight with his wife. Chris Lightly also managed 50 Cent, Diddy and Ja Rule.

In a statement, Dupri said "I'm a very hands-on person when it comes to my work. "I put my all into every project. But when I'm not allowed to do what I do, then I know it's time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future."

According to Billboard, Mariah Carey fired her longtime manager/collaborator/producer and fellow American Idol player Jermaine Dupri as her manager.  Billboard reported that Carey has been closely with Kevin Liles, though, according to their sources "nothing official" was signed with KWL Enterprises, Lile's firm.

Liles was president of Def Jam when Mariah Carey recorded for the label. Billboard reported that Carey and Liles have been working together since June, when Carey's Butterfly interactive launch the Go N'Syde's interactive beverage line.

Kevin Liles currently manages Trey Songz and Ty Dolla $ign.

Dupri collaborated with Carey on the hit songs "We Belong Together" and "Always Be My Baby." But after "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse," Carey's latest album, stalled, he's been facing criticism. "Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse" was two years in the making and has sold only 103,000 units since May.

Jackson produced two of the songs on Carey's soundtrack for 2001′s "Glitter."
