According to the Toronto Sun, "Extant" shifted from its 9pm timeslot to 10pm last Wednesday, with repeats of "Criminal Minds" leading in the CBS summer series.

"'Extant' premiere drew a 1.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic most sought by advertisers, which made it the summer's top new series premiere. Still, it was down considerably from 'Under the Dome,' CBS' summer event series last year, which scored a 3.3 rating among the key demographic," the Toronto Sun reports.

IGN reports CBS is scheduling the one-hour finale of "Extant" for 10 p.m. September 17, one week earlier than originally planned.

According to Deadline, "Extant" was supposed to wrap up its season with a two-hour finale September 24, right after the first episode of the new season of "Survivor,"the publication writes. The shift is likely a move to keep the finale separate from premiere week competition, according to IGN.
