24 Live Another Day Review: Cast & Trailer Success? [RUMORS] 2014 Show Finale Expected To Surpass 2010

"24: Live Another Day" is expected to have higher viewer ratings for its 2014 finale than its 2010 final episode, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Fox projects the series finale will reach 10.7 million viewers, a 12% increase in viewership from 10.4 million total viewers in 2010, the newspaper also reports.

"24: Live Another Day" star Kiefer Sutherland and producer Jon Cassar discussed the show's future during a ComicCon 2014 forum.

"There was so much hope in this guy [Jack Bauer]," Sutherland said, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

"With everything he's lost, he's done. ... There's nothing in his immediate future he's fighting for."

Producers of "24: Live Another Day" considered killing off Jack Bauer for the show's finale, Deadline.com reports.

"We certainly tried out a lot of different endings and we rearranged the furniture every which way in the room," producer Howard Gordon revealed, according to the site.

"So we knew what it looked like for other characters to have met with different ends and we tried them all on, up to and including Jack himself. This has always been a show that is really about the days and the life of this man and no day is probably as intense as a person's last day. So killing Jack was something that was intriguing to us all but it had to be done just right. And that didn't present itself to us."

Fox Networks Group chief Peter Rice has mentioned that his organization needs new hit shows after it was revealed the group came in fourth place in television advertising, USA Today reports, prompting rumors the network's ratings may hurt future casting and trailers for upcoming seasons of "24: Live Another Day."

"24: Live Another Day" ended with a satisfying conclusion, Forbes writes in a review of the show, cast, trailer and ratings.

"At the end of 24's eighth season, the biggest thing fans were left without was closure. With Jack on the run from all American and Russian military and intelligence forces, it was obvious there were future plans in place, that of course being plans for a feature film that never materialized," the website writes.

"Now, hours after the finale of the series return in 24: Live Another Day, it's nice to know we can take solace in the fact the writers did not make the same mistake this time around. This time, we got the one thing we needed to be happy: closure."

A number of spoilers have divulged information about the show's cast and trailer.

Fans on Twitter and Instagram were also left wondering if Jack Bauer will return for another season on the show.
