‘Thirteen Reasons Why’ Movie Starring Selena Gomez And Logan Lerman To Come Out In 2015? Author Jay Asher Recalls How His Bestselling Book Got Rejected 12 Times

In 2011, it has been confirmed that 'Thirteen Reasons Why' movie would indeed come out. Speculations have risen that the film based on Jay Asher's bestselling novel will be released sometime in 2015.

Selena Gomez was reportedly booked to play the lead role of Hannah Baker. While it is unconfirmed who will give life to Clay Jensen's role, reports are pointing to 'Percy Jackson's' Logan Lerman.

Earlier in June, the official 'Thirteen Reasons Why' movie Facebook page has likewise posted silhouettes of Hannah Baker and Clay Jensen whose resemblance with Selena Gomez and Logan Lerman are noticeable.

Justin Bieber's former girlfriend has similarly re-tweeted one post pertaining to the production of the 'Thirteen Reasons Why' movie.

The film is about a shy and non-confrontational high school student Clay Jensen who comes home to find a mysterious box on his porch. Inside the box he finds cassette tapes sent by his classmate and crush, Hannah Baker, who committed suicide two weeks prior.

"On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list," read the book's synopsis.
Despite being a bestselling book, 'Thirteen Reasons Why' has been rejected 12 times. Author Jay Asher tells SLJ what he felt during those times.

"By the time I began submitting this book, I had been unsuccessfully trying to sell other manuscripts for 12 years. So this wasn't out of the ordinary. But I was most nervous about this book not selling because I could tell I finally found my voice, and it was also the first time I wrote from such a personal place," he said.
