The reports about the iPod Touch 6G release date continue to intensify as the launch schedule of new iOS devices nears.

According to a report on iPhones Review, the iPod Touch 6G release date might likely coincide with the launch of new generation of iOS slates - the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3. This is contrary to what some tech enthusiasts expect that the iPod Touch 6G release date will happen together with the September release of the upcoming Apple handset, the iPhone 6.

Instead, latest reports suggest that the iPod Touch 6G, together with the next-gen Apple tablets will arrive in October, during the iPad event of the Cupertino-based tech firm.  The possible reason for this alleged release sched, as noted on Phones Review:

"Apple likes to keep the spotlight on their new iPhone models in September, and of course the iOS 8 public release will feature as well."

iPod Touch 6G is expected to feature the latest mobile operating system from Apple, the iOS 8, which is set to be available at some point during Fall 2014, more likely ahead of the iPhone 6 launch. And one of the iOS 8 features expected to find on the iPod Touch 6G, iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 are is the Touch ID.

Touch ID is Apple's fingerprint recognition tool which serves both as an additional security feature and convenience option for the user.
