'Siri' Could Be Lending Assistance To Mac In The Future

Personal digital assistant Siri will be brought to Mac computers, according to a patent

application that recently surfaced.

Information Week reported that Siri will now be featured on Mac computers and will allow users to use computers hand free and activate various functions through the voice option.

Since 2011, Siri has been featured in Apple's mobile iOS but based on the Apple Insider's report stated that the digital virtual assistant is expanding and is dubbed as an "intelligent digital assistant in a desktop environment."

The patent application hinted that Siri would be applied to OS X version that will make Mac fully functional through voice control.

The patent application listed functions that Siri could perform from reading email message and responding to queries.

Apple's patent application stated," just like human personal assistants, digital assistants or virtual assistants can perform requested tasks and provide requested advice, information, or services. An assistant's ability to fulfill a user's request is dependent on the assistant's correct comprehension of the request or instructions. Recent advances in natural language processing have enabled users to interact with digital assistants using natural language, in spoken or textual forms, rather than employing a conventional user interface (e.g., menus or programmed commands)."

Developed by Dag Kittalaus and his team of SR International as an iPhone app, it was then brought by Apple in 2010 and the next year was re-launched as part of iOs 5.

Siri as current's virtual assistant for iPhone and iPad can make calls, appointments, send texts or sent alarms through voice-controlled language.

 Apple's patent application showed that the company is serious about the concept of Siri to Mac computers in the near future.

Siri has a lot of followers, after Apple improved its functionality. However whether Apple following the patent application will implement Siri on Macs is another story.wor
