‘The Originals’ Klaus Mikaelson To Have New Rival In Second Season; Hybrid To Have Full-Blown Romance With Hayley Marshall?

As if his current enemies are not enough, a new character will be arriving in New Orleans to become the rival of "The Originals" Klaus Mikaelson. "The Originals" season 2 spoilers from TV Line report that such rival is a "respected and feared" werewolf pack leader.

Apart from being a threat to "The Originals" Klaus Mikaelson, the new character will also manage to establish a connection with Davina. While fans might think that the connection will blossom into romance, several reports hint that the new character will merely teach the witch on how she can become more powerful.

At the recently concluded Comic-Con event in San Diego, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed that Mikael and Esther, who came back through Cassie's body, would continue to be the antagonists in the life of Klaus.

"The very thing that they cling to is now coming into jeopardy, and the antagonist is their mother, the person you should feel the most love from. This person is coming back to judge them as abominations," shared the producer.

Another things viewers must watch out for is the reaction of Klaus after giving away Hope, his hybrid daughter, in an attempt to keep her safe. Klaus is expected to not only help Hayley deal with the separation from their daughter but to also teach her how to identify with her new life as a hybrid. This will reportedly be addressed in "The Originals" season 2 pilot episode.

Despite the possibility of a full-blown romance, British actor Joseph Morgan tells Clevver News that it isn't a good idea: "For me there's more of a sort of brother sister-potential with those characters, I don't see it becoming a romantic interest necessarily for him."

"The Originals" season 2 will be airing on October 6 at 8 p.m. on the CW Network.
