The 30 year old fashion designer and heiress Nicky Hiton, the sister of Paris Hilton, got engaged with boyfriend James Rothschild.

Nicky Hilton and James Rothschild have been in a relationship since their first meeting on James Stunt and Petra Ecclestone's wedding in Rome way back in 2011.

Nicky Hilton was incredibly happy after Rothschild proposed to her at Lake Como last weekend.

According to a report, Hilton and Rothschild celebrated their anniversary on Rome, the country where the couple met.

Rothschild flew from his home in England to the United States first to ask Nicky Hilton's parents for her hand in marriage before they flew on a trip to Rome where the said proposal happened.

A source close to the couple told the UsMagazine.com, "They went on a romantic anniversary trip over the weekend. He took her out on a boat into the middle of Lake Como and he proposed, got down on one knee and everything. It was incredibly romantic and beautiful.

Hilton and Rothschild are reportedly celebrating their engagement in a road trip through Europe.

Moreover, Hilton on her Instagram account appears to be testament about it, over the last few days she posted pictures of her in idyllic-looking snaps from their tour.

Nicky Hilton is the younger sister of Paris. Hilton previously dated David Katzenberg the DreamWorks studio boss for four years and shortly married with businessman Todd Andrew Meister in 2004.
