Microsoft Founder Bill Gates Vacations With Serene a $330M Yacht

The New York Daily News captured some pictures of Microsoft founder Bill Gates with his family aboard "The Serene", which is a $330 million dollar yacht.

Gates rents the Serene from Stolichnaya vodka distributor, Yuri Scheffler. Scheffler is famous for battling with Russian President Vladimir Putin who tried to nationalize and redistribute Stolichnaya's wealth.

Serene is equipped with its own climbing wall, saltwater pool, health spa, library, outdoor theatre and a nightclub which spreads out over the boat's combined 48,000 square feet.

The said yacht is the third most expensive in the world with its own submarine.

Though Bill Gates does not own a yacht, he seems to be a fan of them. Way back in 1994, he was close to buying a yacht belonging to his fellow Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. Allen famously bought a $200 million mega yacht for himself a few years ago.

However, even if the Microsoft founder does not own a yacht, his choice of vacations certainly trumps Bill and Hillary Clinton's, who on revealed that they were renting an $18 million Hamptons estate for about $30,000 per week.

Bill Gates and his family usually use the Serene's on board helicopter to travel for tennis matches at the nearby Porto Cervo at the "billionare's playground", while the Serene is stationed off the coast of Sardina.
