X-Files Star Gillian Anderson Returns to Science Fiction With New Book; Gillian Anderson Comes to The Screen In `Streetcar Named Desire’

Gillian Anderson is getting busy. The "X-Files" star is returning to science fiction in a new book. Gillian Anderson can also be seen as Blanche Dubois in a limited screening of the classic Tennessee Williams play "A Streetcar Named Desire."

Gillian Anderson co-wrote the science fiction novel "A Vision of Fire" with Jeff Rovin, a New York Times bestselling author. "A Vision of Fire" tells the story of Caitlin O'Hara, a child psychiatrist who is treating "the daughter of India's ambassador to the United Nations [who] starts speaking in tongues and having violent visions." The visions correspond with a worldwide phenomenon where teenagers and animals start acting strange and begin hurting themselves. The psychiatrist believes there is a connection.

In January, Anderson told Entertainment Weekly that she "wanted a very strong female character, around my age. I would want to read something like that and I think other women would like to read."

"A Vision of Fire" is set for release in October. You can read an excerpt on the Simon451 Fall 2014 Preview Sampler through Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble Nook, Apple iBookstore, and the Google Play store.
