Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Sequal Moves Forward; Michael Bay Will Produce, But Who Will Direct?

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' sequel is a go. Paramount Pictures announced it is moving forward with plans for a TMNT reboot sequel on the strength of the $93.7 million global take from "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" .The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel is set to open on June 3, 2016 release. It will open against "Sausage Party," an animated adult movie from Seth Rogen.

The high-riding TMNT reboot didn't get the green light so easy. Director Jonathan Liebesman told Mashable magazine. "Listen, what I'm finding out very quickly is you cannot please all the people all the time, especially with Ninja Turtles. If it wasn't for Michael, we wouldn't have gotten the money we needed to do it the way we did it. We would have never had access to the amazing technology."

Michael Bay will be producer on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles too." It is unclear whether Jonathan Liebesman will return as director. Producer  Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes already nabbed screenwriters Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec, who wrote "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol." The next TMNT will come out from Nickelodeon Movies on June 3, 2016.

Megan Fox recently told Screenrant about how many sequels she may be making. "How many am I signed up for is a good question, probably 100 because I would sign any contract to be a part of the movie but I don't know. Right now there is no real plan for a second one, I think we'll know very soon though and I'll definitely do it if they will have me. This turned out really well, way better than I could have ever hoped."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" broke records last week when it opened at a $94.3 million draw. This week "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" became the fourth biggest August debut in history.
