Cleveland Cavaliers Roster Should Include Marion And Allen To Provide More Playoff Experience To Lebron-Led Squad

The Cleveland Cavaliers roster is already looking to be one of the most fearsome starting lineups in the NBA for the upcoming season. The Cavs have a rising star floor general, a stretch four that can rebound a lot, and the best player on the planet in its starting five.

Unfortunately, that may be it for the squad as far as potential is concerned. The bench, while has some role players in Mike Miller and James Jones are nowhere near Hall of Fame status when they retire.

It is also worth noting that only James and Anderson Varejao have solid post-season experience in the bunch, and the center has not been in the Playoffs since last time Lebron was with Cleveland - in 2010.

This only emphasizes the Cavs' dire need for veteran experience, players who know what to do during Game 7s of any playoff series. In spite the stellar young careers of Irving and Love, both of them have not played a single Playoff game.

Another interesting young stud is Dion Waiters who have emerged as a lock in the two-guard spot, but like his peers, the 23-year-old has not played past the regular season.

WIth this tremendous lack of post-season experience, Cleveland will need to sign free agents Shawn Marion and Ray Allen. While both players are already at the twilight of their respective careers, both have shown that they can still play big minutes and contribute to their team.

Marion is currently mulling over his options with Cleveland as the Indiana Pacers are also desperate pushing to get the veteran to their depleted lineup. As for Allen, previous reports say that he is 'content with retiring', though the chance to chase another ring could entice him to re-unite with James and his former Heat teammates in Cleveland.
