'Justice League Dark' Is In The Works: Guillermo Del Toro Assures Fans He And DC Comics Are Seeing Eye To Eye, Says He Is Open To Crossover With 'Constantine' TV Show [PHOTO]

Guillermo Del Toro has said he is working on "Justice League Dark" here are all the details currently known.

It's a project del Toro has been talking about for a couple years. Now it seems like all but a done deal, if Del Toro's Comic-Con interview with IGN is much of an indication.

"We are deep in the screenplay writing phase," he said. "I think we see eye-to-eye, Warners and DC and myself, on what the movie is. I think it's really, really well served as a movie. Then you can expand it."

Del Toro outlined his team line-up for the film: Demon, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Constantine, and this curveball: The Floronic Man. Though there are reportedly plans for The Spectre to show up on the Constantine TV series, Del Toro said he likely wouldn't be in the Justice League Dark movie.

Del Toro said the TV and movie universes are intended to remain separate, which is in line with statements from DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, though Del Toro also said he was open to casting Constantine's Matt Ryan as the movie version of John Constantine. He's a pretty flexible guy.

Right now Del Toro is working on the haunted house film "Crimson Peak"and is gearing up production on a smaller film to be directed before he helms "Pacific Rim 2"

He's also in consideration to helm Frankenstein for Alex Kurtzman's burgeoning Universal Monster shared universe, and is a producer on several projects, including the new FX series "The Strain" and the animated film "Book of Life" (which he also wrote). Because of his busy schedule, it's hard to keep track of which projects are and aren't in development.

"I'm still working on it. Sandman doesn't figure into the Dark Universe. We have Deadman, we have the Demon, we have Swamp Thing, we have Zatanna, we have Constantine, but DC and Warners have been very clear that they are trying to keep those properties separate so when the time comes they can unite them, once they know they're quantifiable. Batman, Superman, Green Lantern... everyone eventually will come together. Right now, they're allowing us independence."

Guillermo del Toro says that the project is currently in the script stage, but is going well. He claims that he and Warner Bros. are "seeing eye-to-eye" on it and listed the characters he wanted as "Etrigan the Demon, Deadman, Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Constantine, The Floronic Man, and many, many others."
