Xiaomi Mi3 Review: Introducing The Smartphone Who Helped Xiaomi Beat Samsung In China

Before you check out the upcoming Android phones in September, you may want to check out this Xiaomi Mi3 review to know whether you are still waiting for a decent handset to buy or it's already right in front of you.

Little do most people know that the Xiaomi Mi3 has been around since late last year, right after the IFA event in Berlin where the Galaxy Note 3 made its debut.

But how come it only managed to make waves at this time? That's because Xiaomi was still considered a minor player back then, and almost unknown to other markets in Asia.

However, because the rising trend in the smartphone industry today is 'the cheaper, the better', the Chinese manufacturer immediately became popular in the earlier parts of 2014 due to its super affordable designs.

Just in case you are wondering what makes the Xiaomi Mi3 special, well that's because it shares the sme specifications as the other smartphone mentioned in this article - the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, considered as 2013's best smartphone.

The Mi3 packs a 5-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 800 chipset, 2GB of RAM and a 16GB of internal storage.

At the back of the device is a 13MP primary shooter and in front is a 5MP snapper, nowhere near the 2MP front cam of the Galaxy Note 3.

But like most affordable handsets, there are a few compromises such as the lack of a microSD card slot. Consumers have the option to pick either the 16GB or the 32GB version.

Still, the pricing for the Mi3 now is only around $250, while the Galaxy Note 3 still costs about $500-550 depending on the retailer.

In case you cannot wait for the release date of the Xiaomi Mi4, then the Mi3 will certainly provide a bang for your buck.
