Theo James Girlfriend Is The Reason Why He Got Into Acting; ‘Insurgent’ Actor Reveals Why He Thinks Four Is Masculine – And It’s Not Because Of His Biceps!

Fans of the spring blockbuster "Divergent" will have the chance to revisit the film with the release of its Blu-ray and DVD. The sci-fi thriller film has raked $275 million at the worldwide box office and undoubtedly catapulted Theo James into the limelight.

Theo James girlfriend in 2010 must be thanked for encouraging the actor to audition for a drama school. As per the "Downtown Abbey" actor, he didn't discover his fascination for acting right away as he initially graduated with a Philosophy course.

"Basically, an ex-girlfriend at the time was auditioning for these drama schools, and she kind of told me about it and how it worked, and it went from there. So I kind of started in 2010," he told Hero Complex.

In "Divergent" and its sequel "Insurgent," James plays the role of Four - one of the leaders of the Dauntless faction who eventually falls in love with newcomer Tris. While fans have gushed about Four's toned physique and overall strength, James never associated those things with masculinity.

In the same interview with Hero, the 29-year-old said that he was drawn to Four's character because it's something not commonly seen these days.

"To me he had an old-school Hollywood vibe. I mean those kind of actors where masculinity isn't worn by biceps, it's worn by kind of true identity. You think of Steve McQueen and Paul Newman, they had it in abundance, but they didn't need to jam it down anyone's throat," said James.

Shailene Woodley's boyfriend on-screen also said that he liked his character because
"he's also someone motivated by nobility and honor and morality."

"Insurgent" will come out on March 20, 2015.
