iPad Pro Rumors: The Real Reason Why Apple's 12.9" Tablet Is Delayed

Earlier this year, there were news about iPad Pro rumors, stating that the Cupertino manufacture is preparing for its biggest tablet yet. In those rumors, the Apple slate is considered to be a tablet-laptop hybrid that will automatically come with its own detachable keyboard.

However, by the end of the second quarter, those rumors started to die down.

In the latest report by analyst Ming Chi-Kuo of KGI Securities, Apple may have postponed the development because it simply does not have enough time to work on all of its upcoming devices simultaneously.

In its annual press event in September, the Cupertino manufacturer is expected to unveil its 4.7-inch iPhone 6, together with the new iPads, the Air 2, and the iPad mini 3.

Because the company has not yet refreshed its MacBook lineup, new versions of its laptop family are also expected to get their own new versions in the coming months. While September is a possible date, the actual launch could be as far as October while the device should ship by the end of November just in time for the holidays.

While this reason is certainly believable as to why we are not going to see any 12.9-inch tablets from Apple this year, another reason could be Samsung's failure to sell its own 12.2-inch slate, dubbed as the Galaxy Note 12.2 Pro, which made its debut at the CES event in Las Vegas earlier this year.

The device is certainly not short of specs, packing a QHD (2560 x 1600) resolution screen, 3GB of RAM and an octa-core chipset. Unfortunately, the pricing is certainly not cheap, and may have contributed to its failure to sell well.

Apple will most likely encounter the same issues when it announces the iPad Pro, so until it has everything cleared out, it may as well extend its development phase of the iPad Pro that allegedly gets a 4K resolution screen.
