iOS 8 Gold Master Release Date Set For September 3? Final Version Of New Firmware Available A Week After Alongside iPhone 6?

Reports about the iOS 8 release date intensify as September nears.

The final version of the iOS 8 is expected to arrive this fall. But before releasing iOS 8 to public, Apple usually releases first the near-final edition of the operating system called the Gold Master. And according to reports, particularly noted on Tech Radar, the iOS 8 Gold Master or GM release date can be expected to be slated on or around September 3.

Christian Post, however, reported the possibility that the iOS 8 Gold Master release date is set for September 9. 

The iPhone Wiki describes the Gold Master (GM) build as "typically the final build of a piece of software in the beta stages for developers."

And then a week after the iOS 8 Gold Master release date, specifically on a Wednesday, Apple users might finally be able to experience the final version of the newest mobile operating system for iOS devices.

The post on Tech Radar noted that Apple usually releases its iOS updates on Wednesday, while mobile devices, particularly new iPhones are announced on Tuesdays.

A major Apple event is allegedly happening on Tuesday, September 9, which can be the first unveiling of the iPhone 6. And then on September 10, Apple may already release the iOS 8 to public.

As for the iPhone 6 release date, MacWorld suggested that if Apple will follow the same pattern with last year's releases, the new handset's unveiling may happen on September 9's Apple event and then make the new iOS device available to the public on September 19.

Last year, the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C were unveiled on September 10, and then they hit the market on the 20th.

Going back to iOS 8, the new iteration of Apple's mobile OS is expected to "feature tighter Mac integration while loosening the restrictions on Apple's Touch ID fingerprint sensor," according to this site.  The post further reads, "New software kits are also bringing once fragmented security and health gadgets together."
