'Guardians of the Galaxy' To Come On Top This Weekend, ‘How To Train Your Dragon 2’ hit $500 Million Mark

'Guardians of the Galaxy,' is predicted to come on top in this weekend's box office hit, beating 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' which according to forecast will be facing a second weekend drop.

According to Gotcha Movies, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' has grossed $200 million in two weeks. The Turtles movie is still on second, but the film's bad reviews re contributing to the lukewarm reception of moviegoers.

'Turtles' earned $65 million in last weekend's opening but forecast shows that it will fall by 60 percent.

The 'Expendables' sequel however is not also predicted to perform well this second weekend. Gotcha Movies said that although 'Expendables 2' revenues were at $18 million compared to the first part. Horrible reviews and a HD copy of the film leaked online will also contribute to the second weekend performance.

Forecast also placed the Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges movie in the 4th place. The predictions said it could rake $20 million during the opening weekend despite the bad reviews and poor marketing of the film.

On the fifth spot meanwhile is 20th Century Fox' 'Let's be Cops' and is expected to earn up to $17 million this weekend. A cop comedy, reviews are terrible but it's still made in to the top five movies this weekend.

Meanwhile, DreamWorks "How to Train Your Dragon 2," hit the $500-million mark at the box office worldwide.

LA Times reported that it is now the "highest-grossing animated movie so far this year."

Moviegoers patronized the film more than its 2010 original movie, which earned $495 million.

"We have been incredibly proud of 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' from the moment we saw it and we're thrilled that it has been embraced around the world with such enthusiasm," DreamWorks Chief Marketing Officer Dawn Taubin was quoted as saying.

The sequel received positive reviews both for artistic and technical achievements.
