An official firmware based on Android 4.4.2 KitKat is available for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 units, as posted on the specs list on GSM Arena for the phablet. However, adventurous Android users can opt to install Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 using a custom firmware.

Accordingly, INFAMOUS custom ROM has been released for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. However, not all variants of the phablet can get the custom firmware. Particularly, the INFAMOUS custom ROM is available for the T-Mobile model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, or those bearing the model number N900T.

As described on International Business Times report, the INFAMOUS custom firmware is "based on the T-Mobile KOT49H.N900TUVUCNB4 4.4.2 update and is de-odexed, Zipaligned and brings in more customization options."

The phablet should have 80 percent battery level or more before installing Android 4.4.2 KitKat update.
