'Desperate Housewives’ Eva Longoria Faces Off Against Andy Sandberg In 3 Episode Arc For ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, Not Good News For Season 3 Of ‘Devious Maids’?

"Desperate Housewives" fans missing Eva Longoria on the small screen won't have much longer to wait. The actress will return to television this Fall for a 3-episode arc on Fox's "Brooklyn Nine-Nine."

According to Deadline, "Eva Longoria has been tapped for a three-episode arc" and will play "Sophia, a defense attorney who catches Jake's (Andy Samberg) attention when she faces off against him in court."

Eva Longoria, known for her long running role on award winning TV series "Desperate Housewives" has been mostly behind the cameras these days. Currently, she is the Executive Producer for the series "Devious Maids." With this announcement that Longoria will be returning to acting, fans may really be wondering if they can expect a Season 3 confirmation.

It doesn't look good for the Lifetime series as the network and Longoria herself remain quiet about the future of the series. In addition to this, two of the main actors, Ana Ortiz and Colin Woodell, have recently taken on new TV projects. According to International Business Times, Colin Woodell will join The CW's "Originals" where he will play a werewolf tasked to take down vampires. "The Originals" Season 2 will premiere on October 6th.

Meanwhile, Ana Ortiz will make her way onto Shonda Rhimes' newest series, "How To Get Away With Murder." She'll get the chance to work alongside award winning actress Viola Davis, so it's a good move for the up and coming newbie. "How To Get Away With Murder" will debut on ABC on September 25th.

While "Devious Maids" fans await the Season 2 Finale and remain hopeful for a confirmed Season 3, they can continue to support Eva Longoria by catching her on "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" which is set to premiere September 28th. They can also look for her in her feature film "Frontera" which is now available on VOD and opens in theaters on September 5th.
