According to AFP Relax News, the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua which launched on Tuesday is aiming to mark an edge over other competitors with its latest feature.

The Sony Xperia M2 Aqua is the first water-resistant handset ever.

Sony Xperia M2 Aqua also can last in 1.5 meters of water for about 30 minutes.

"It is a smartphone that lets customers take the best of Sony technology and entertainment with them wherever they go -- come rain or shine -- and we are excited to bring it to market," said Calum MacDougall, Director of Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile in AFP Relax News.

The water-resistant device is quite advantageous for Sony's company compare other devices, this will be a great stepping stone for them to be number 1 in the market.

According to GSM Arena, the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua comes in a size of 540 x 960 pixels with scratch-resistant glass and weighs about 149 g (5.26 oz).

In terms of its camera, the device has an 8 MP on its primary camera with the features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection, panorama and HDR.

The said device runs on Android OS v4.4.2 (KitKat) in Qualcomm MSM8926-2 Snapdragon 400.

Moreover, the device is a multitouch up to 4 fingers and it is a certified dust and water proof handset, also a scratch-resistant glass.

Other feature also include a microSD slot of up to 32GB, internal memory of 8GB and 1GB RAM.

The GSM Arena clarified that other information of the said device are not yet confirmed since it is not yet release. 

According to AFP Relax News, Sony Xperia M2 Aqua release date might be later this year.
