Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: Rumored 6.1" Phablet Getting Midrange Specs, Include 5MP Shooter, Snapdragon 400, 1GB RAM
There are a number of upcoming interesting Sony phones for 2014, including the selfie-focused Xperia C3 which will debut sometime next month.
However, a new report claims that the Japanese manufacturer is working on a new midranger, but this time it would be a 6.1-inch phablet.
According to a report by GSM Arena, the device will only pack 854 x 480 resolution which may not be ideal for such a huge display, but with an affordable price tag, this Xperia phone should sell well especially in emerging markets.
In addition, the Android-powered smartphone will pack decent specs such as a Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM and a quad-core CPU running at 1.2GHz. Also on board is a 4GB built in storage, which should come with a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
On the camera department, the mysterious Sony device, dubbed D2203, will pack a 5MP rear camera and a capable VGA shooter. The phone runs on Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, and features most of the usual connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC.
Unfortunately, that's everything we know about the device for now. Meanwhile, we better stay tuned for the upcoming IFA event where Sony, Samsung and other world-renowned manufacturers will unveil their respective devices.
We expect this mysterious Sony smartphone to make an appearance in the said event in Berlin, or even an actual launch.
