Kobe Bryant Better Than Jordan? Brandon Jennings Says Kobe Is The 'Greatest Of All Time!' Pistons Guard Claims Air Jordan Got More Help In Winning Titles

The debate on the greatest player ever always begins with Michael Jordan. Kobe Bryant was acknowledged as the closest player to challenge that. Brandon Jennings of the Detroit Pistons suggests that Kobe has actually passed His Airness.

Jennings expressed his opinions in a series of Tweets, as reposted by The Detroit Free Press:

"Micheal Jordan had more 'Help' winning his rings then Kobe. #debate #yallfightingthat"

"Kobe really the greatest ever. Look at the facts"

"Kobe is The Goat"

The Detroit Free Press has their own take:

"Jennings' argument centered on the 'help' that Jordan received while winning his six championship rings, the same help that Bryant, in his eyes, didn't get.

'Mike got a lot of help!!!!' he tweeted. 'MJ never won without Pippen.' as opposed to 'Kobe won 2 rings without another great on his team'"

And Jennings was not done yet:

"It's only one player compared to MJ, and that's Kobe. Now Kobe change the mindset of a lot of players today!!! #Fact #SitUpinClass"

It's definitely a different angle than the other debates which center on the number of awards they've won or their career statistics.

The obvious answer for his argument would be Shaquille O'Neal. O'Neal was probably the most dominant center who ever played in the NBA and was the main man in three of Kobe's five championships. (The 2002 title is debatable though as it was the year that Kobe was recognized as a force to be reckoned with).

But Jennings raised a good point that if you extend the analysis, Jordan could have a better supporting cast: Scottie Pippen is acknowledged as the best all-around player in the NBA in his era. He was able to play virtually any position that the team needed at any given time. Of course, there was also Dennis Rodman in Jordan's last three championships and Horace Grant in the first three.

The Lakers have not had three All-Stars even in the championship years while Jordan's Bulls had three all stars (Jordan, Pippen Rodman/Grant).

Kobe's last championship (2010) saw a strong frontline with Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odom along with Kobe, but Bynum was primarily injured and that was Odom's last good year.

The debate could rage on. It could also continue in the comments if you sound off. Is Brandon Jennings correct, or totally delusional?
