Upcoming HTC Phones 2014: Another Gorgeous-Looking Desire Smartphone Is Headed For IFA In Berlin, Will Boast Qualcomm's First Ever 64-Bit Chip

We didn't think there would be upcoming HTC phones for 2014 this time of the year, especially during the IFA event. During the past years, the Taiwanese manufacturer has not participated in the event where other Android OEMs battle it out for supremacy.

However, a new report tells us that HTC will be joining the mix at the IFA showcase, just not on the flagship level.

According to a report by GSM Arena, HTC has already posted a teaser image on its Weibo account about an upcoming midranger, dubbed as the Desire 820, which should make its debut in September.

The fact that HTC posted the teaser image in its Weibo account means that the device could make its way to China initially, which is what the Taiwanese manufacturer has been doing for its recent midrangers.

While there are no solid specification leaks yet for the HTC Desire 820, the report claims that it will be the first smartphone to sport Qualcomm's first ever 64-bit chipset, Snapdragon 615. It would be an octa-core chip composed of four 1.8GHz Cortex-A53 cores, and four 1GHz Cortex A53 cores.

Running the graphics department would be an Adreno 405 GPU.

Right now, that's all there is to know about the Desire 820, and we sure hope that HTC would unveil it sooner rather than later. HTC has been doing everything to get people to buy its devices, and this year the Taiwanese manufacturer has launched more midrangers than ever for the past couple years.

The good thing about HTC midrangers is that in spite the lower-end specs compared to flagships, they still pack a decent build and design that only HTC can provide. We sure hope HTC's gains for the past quarter will continue to grow before the year ends.
