Open World Free Pokemon Game Being Developed By YouTuber 18T220: Fans Ask For Kickstarter To They Can Donate

As more Pokemon games are announced by Nintendo, fans are still pining for an open world, fully 3D Pokemon game. But maybe not for long.

Meet YouTuber 18T220, a programmer who has been working on a free, open-world Pokemon game powered by CRYENGINE. The tentative title, according to Gamingfall is Pokemon World.

"Just a short video showing the progress of this project," wrote 18T220 on YouTube. "I've got to be honest, I had to scrap the battle system that I work on for a long time due to bugs and errors and I've started again from scratch."

Reactions to Pokemon World have been very positive, though some were worried about the legal rights pertaining to this project.

"Looks awesome!" wrote Dan0bi. "Imagine the possibilities; this is what a Pokemon game should be. I think the only stumbling block to this guy's work would be Nintendo suing him for using their product."

"Make a Kickstarter so we can fund it and make it an MMO," commented Destin Tucker on YouTube."

But as 18T220 pointed out, he cannot profit from making this new Pokemon game without getting sued by Nintendo.

"If you make a Kickstarter to make a game, you can still accept donations to fund a project. You just can't make profit and sell anything," added Jesse Stuckey.

With projects like rising for Pokemon, hopefully fans get to see an open world, 3D Pokemon game sooner rather than later.
