Real Madrid will face off against rival Córdoba on Monday, placing two of La Liga BBVA's closely followed teams against each other.

Real Madrid, entering its first match of the season, is expected to be the favorite in the match.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said Angel Di Maria is leaving the team and transferring to Manchester United, ESPN reports.

"He came in, but this morning he did not train," Ancelotti said, according to the site. "It is not fully done, but he is close to a transfer.

"He came to say goodbye. We thanked him for what he has done for this team and we wished him luck for the future. It is not official, but it is resolved."

Córdoba, also entering its first match of the season, is expected to be the underdog in the match.

Córdoba manager Albert Ferrer is said to be relishing his Real Madrid game, Sports Mole reports.

"We are looking forward to what will be physically and mentally tough conditions," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We're going there to play, and hopefully, if we do, we'll get something positive out of it.
