'Red Dead Redemption 2' Release Date Rumors: Rockstar Engineer Leaks News About Sequel Alluded To Game May Actually Be 'Agent' [PHOTO]

"Red Dead Redemption 2" may be in the works, maybe.

It should be noted that htis everything that follows is speculation, and none of this information has been confirmed by Rockstar.

The "Red Dead Redemption 2" rumors all started when Leslie Benzies, hinted  that the company was working on a "big project" that was to release sometime in the near future.

Then MotoringCrunch reported that Feinstein, a senior engineer at Rockstar, let it slip on his linkedin account tahat his team was working on a new game that would release soon.

All this means that if Rockstar is working on an older IP, as the president said earlier, then it likely will be "Red Dead Redemption 2," as the company's second most popular and lucrative title ( After GTA obviously)

Even though "Manhunt" and "Bully" are alos two popular franchises owned by Rockstar, none of them come close to the critical of financial acclaim of "Red Dead Redemption."

Rockstar also might have been talking about "Agent" which recently extended the game's trademark and Sony mentioned it at 2009's E3. Indeed Motoring Crunch has also said that they may have been wrong about "Red Dead Redemption 2" and that the game Rockstar was hinting at was actually "Agent"

Rockstar's Italian website gave some confirmation by listing the game as pending. Also, CEO of Take Two, Strauss Zelnick, has been teasing fans by claiming that Rockstar has a few titles in development for the Xbox One and the PS4.

The first title in the series was called "Red Dead Revolver" and the second was called "Red Dead Redemption" so the next installment of the game probably won't be called "Red Dead Redemption 2" but rather "Red Dead (new word) some have gone on to speculate the third word would be rebellion.

To be clear, Rockstar Games has not officially announced its plans to release a follow-up to "Red Dead Redemption,"however, the company did say back in 2012 that it wasn't completely finished with the "Red Dead" franchise, and expressed its hopes to release a new installation in future.

Rockstar said then, as quoted by Hallels, "We don't always rush to make sequels but that does not mean that we won't get back to them eventually. Stay tuned for further announcements about the future of the Red Dead series."

All this has lead some analysists to report a November 2015 release date, based on average time it takes to make a game but this has not been confirmed by an official source.

Do you think "Red Dead Redemption 2" is happening? Check back often as we get closer to this very, very hypothetical release date.
