‘Inferno' By Dan Brown Movie Adaptation Confirmed! Ron Howard Returns To Direct! Will Tom Hanks Reprise His Role?

Dan Brown is probably the most successful author of the past two decades not named J.K.Rowling. His controversial book, "The DaVinci Code" became a monster hit worldwide despite the some countries banning the movie's exhibition.

The controversy centered on the implication that Jesus actually married and had children, contrary to the Canon of Catholic teaching. It also revealed that most of the world's intellectual luminaries throughout history like Leonardo DaVinci were part of powerful secret societies that harbored goals of world domination and control.

The lines between fiction and the real world got blurred and there were even accusations that most of the world's famous celebrities were part of the "Illuminati."

Nevertheless, the controversy made "The DaVinci Code" a monster hit. It's prequel, "Angels and Demons was not quite as successful, and it probably led to some hesitation on Sony adapting Dan Brown's next book on the Robert Langdon book, "The Lost Symbol."

Now, his latest bestseller, "Inferno" will make its way back to the big screen. The details of the Inferno movie from EW:

"Inferno, the fourth book in Dan Brown's Robert Langdon series, is getting the movie treatment, Sony confirms to EW. Tom Hanks is set to reprise his role as Langdon when shooting begins in April.

Inferno follows Langdon as he tries to stop someone from unleashing a plague on the world, all while dealing with amnesia and working with a doctor to piece together the memories he has left. The book was released in 2013; its predecessor, 2009's The Lost Symbol, will not be adapted into film.

Ron Howard, who directed the second movie in the film series-Angels & Demons, actually the first Langdon book Brown wrote-will return to direct Inferno. Also returning: Brian Grazer, who produced both The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons."
