Pokemon Pokken Tournament Update: Arcade Bandai Namco Game Will Include More Than Fighting Types

After the surprising announcement of a new Pokemon game, more updates regarding Pokken Tournament has been announced.

On August 26, a special live stream featuring The Pokemon Company President Tsunekazu Ishihara streamed on YouTube, and as expected, a brand new Pokemon game was revealed to the public.

Titled "Monthly Famitsu feat. Pokemon Special," this live stream announced Pokken Tournament, an upcoming arcade fighting game developed by Bandai Namco, who also produced Tekken and Soul Caliber.

Reportedly, this Pokemon game will arrive sometime in 2015 in arcades, but a non-arcade version could arrive in the future, presumably for the Nintendo Wii U.

In addition, Serebii has confirmed today that Pokemon Pokken Tournament will not only include Fighting-type Pokemon like Lucario, Machamp, and Blaziken.

Nintendo has also released the first official trailer for this new Pokemon game.

"This looks way better than the upcoming Super Smash Bros. installment," commented TheMalik120 on YouTube.

Of course, Super Smash Bros. coming for the Wii U and 3DS is another popular fighting game franchise for the company, and it has heavy crossover with Pokemon.

Most recently, it's been confirmed that N's Castle from Pokemon Black and White, and Black 2 and White 2 will be a battle stage in Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS.

Although the true mechanics of the stage is not known at this point, it has been confirmed that Reshiram, Zekrom and Milotic will be stage hazards for this level.

Of all the playable characters, the Pokemon fighters include Charizard, Pikachu, Lucario, and Greninja.
