Destiny Beta Release Date DLC News And Trailer: Eligible For Pre-Load On Xbox One, But DLC Content Will Come To PS4 And PS3 First [VIDEO]

Destiny has a September 9th release date, after a recent sucessful Beta. Here is all the most recent info including DLC specs.

Some players thought that Destiny didn't have enough gameplay, as each planet only had one location. According to Gamespot.com, Bungie director of production Jonty Barnes said, "If I'm honest with you, it blew my mind, because it's the biggest game we've ever made. I don't think people understand the depth and amount of game play there is in Destiny." He went on to add that the Beta was only a small portion of the game.

Bungie has confirmed that there will be several different DLC's for the game. According to IGN, Bungie has released an expansion pass that will allow access to two DLC expansions for the game. Those who purchase the Destiny Digital Guardian edition will also get the Expansion Pass. There are also two DLC expansions exclusive for the Playstation, which are "The Dark Below" and "House of Wolves." Bunjie has yet to announce the release date of any DLCs.

Bungie's Jonty Barnes also spoke with IGN recently, and said that  users should expect a lot of updates as the company balances different elements and adds new features.

Users are able to travel to the Moon, Mars, Venus and Earth. A single multiplayer map will also take place at a shrine on the first planet in the Solar System, Mercury. Barnes has also hinted that future expansiosn will include other planets and places to visit.

The "Destiny" Beta test revealed that the game is FPS in nature, but players get a unique power based on their character type. It really is an attempt to combine a massive persistent world, with FPS action, and RPG storytelling and character building.

Xbox One owners will be able to pre-load the game before everyone rushes in on launch date and makes downloading the digital version of Destiny a tedious task. A statement sent to Polygon after news of the pre-loading surfaced online today confirms that users will be able to purchase and download the game before its official launch at no extra cost. It won't let you play eariler, just download it ahead of time and not have to go to the store the day it is out.

Bungie is holding an hour-long panel discussion at PAX Seattle Convention Center on Sunday, August 31 at 3:00 p.m. EDT (12:00 p.m. PDT).

Design Lead Luke Smith will be moderating the proceedings, while Technical Art Director Ryan Ellis will expound on how Bungie built the worlds of "Destiny."

Design Lead M.E. Chung and Engineering Lead Luke Timmins will talk about how Bungie intents to keep the game fresh with "action and danger and rewards."

Again, the "Destiny" release date will be September 9, check back for more information as we get closer to the release date. Until then, enjoy these trailers.
