Minecraft Xbox One Release Date Update, News, And Specs: 4J Announces Xbox One Version Almost Done, PS4 Version Delayed: Mojang Strikes Deal With BBC For Doctor Who Skins Pack [PHOTO]

We all thought that "Minecraft Xbox One" (as well as PS4) release date would have came and went already, but 4J ran into some bug problems and failed to get the games through testing. "Minecraft Xbox One" will likely be released in September

"Minecraft" for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 got an update from 4J recently.

The company wrote on Twitter: "#MinecraftPS4 is back with Sony for final testing. Fingers crossed..."

It added: "Down to the last few bugs with #MinecraftXbox1 - hoping to hand it over to Microsoft by the end of the week! We have a bit more work to do on #MinecraftPSVita before we can hand it over to Sony. We'll let you know when we hand it over."

Later, the company gave an updadte about transferring saves from the Xbox 360 to the next-gen console.

"A small #MinecraftXBLA update is in test. This adds the ability to transfer Xbox 360 saves to #MinecraftXBox1 ahead of its release," said 4J. It added: "A small #MinecraftPS3 update is also in test. This adds the ability to upload PS3 saves for #MinecraftPS4 & #MinecraftPSVita."

The next-gen editions of the game are said to be about 36 times larger than the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.

Minecraft: Xbox One Edition will be significantly bigger worlds and a greater draw distance than Xbox 360 Edition. It will cost 19.99, unless you have the Xbox 360 version, in which case it is just a 5 dollar update. Players with Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition saves will be able to import their worlds to Xbox One.

"Minecraft" for PS4 has hit several road bumps and has been officially postponed. The game was scheduled to release sometime this month, however in a recent Twitter post, 4J Studios wrote that Sony detected some problems with the PS4 version of the game and they are currently hard at work fixing the issues. They also mentioned that the developers would be required to go through the certification process with Sony again, which normally takes a week or two. 

4J Studios will also need to submit 'Minecraft' for Xbox One and PS Vita for certification as well. So, again, the release date for all three versions will likely be in September.

In other news, 4J, Mohang, and BBC have struck a deal allowing for Doctor Who skins in the game.The packs will feature characters from all the Doctor Who's, including  the most recent Doctor, as portrayed by Peter Capaldi.

The first of several Doctor Who skin packs will launch in September with the 11th Doctor and five other Doctors and their companions all included. You'll also find some of the Doctor's most iconic foes are included in the skin packs too, including the Daleks.
