Brandon Flowers New Album In The Works; 'The Killers' Frontman Reveals Solo Effort To Be Released In 2015

Brandon Flowers's new album is in the works and "The Killers" frontman revealed that his solo album is slated to be released in 2015.

While information is a bit scant about Brandon Flowers's new album, his second solo effort to date, the singer was quick to reveal that he will be working with the same producer as Vampire Weekend (for "Modern Vampires of the City") and Sky Ferreira (for "Night Time, My Time).

"The Killers"'s frontman Brandon Flowers's new album will reportedly be produced by Grammy-winning producer Ariel Rechtshaid.

"He's taking me out of my comfort zone," said Flowers about Rechtshaid in an interview with NME. "Normally I make demos and they're pretty similar to how the song ends up, but he'll take a song and be like, 'I hear this,' It's incredible - his palette and his range, what he's able to say. At first we were butting our heads together, but now we're hitting it off."

Although not much has been revealed about the still untitled album, Flowers shared that it will be a far cry from his first solo effort "Flamingo," which was released in 2010, and was heavily inspired by his hometown of Las Vegas. "I'm trying to sort of stay away from that, but I've always got one foot planted there, so it's hard. People are going to interpret it how they will, but there's only a little bit of Vegas in there," Flowers said.

Flowers could not keep his excitement about his new record, saying "the record's not done yet, but I'm excited about it... I'm liking it." But he also spoke about the future of his band "The Killers."

"I wanna keep being in this band," said Flowers in reassurance." "I don't think we'll get too morbid about it, I think we wanna keep going."

Flowers's "Flamingo" took the number 8 spot in US Billboard 200 in 2010. His band "The Killers"'s most recent musical effort is the album "Direct Hits" which was released in 2013.
