Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey Divorce Agreement Meeting About Big Money, Lavish Living and Too Much Work

Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey divorce agreement is being hammered out. After reports seem to be confirmed that Mariah and Nick's marriage truly over, papers are following the couple as they try to work out a divorce agreement Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon announced their separation after six years of marriage on Thursday.

According to published reports, Mariah Carey, 44, invited Nick Cannon, 33, over to her New York City apartment to work out a divorce agreement.

A source told E! News that Carey is "done taking a passive role" in the Nick Cannon divorce. The insider told E! News "She asked Nick to come over to the apartment yesterday to talk-that's why he was there."

According to reports Carey is upset that Cannon was away from the family after taking a lot of work.

A source told E! "She has tried and tried to get him to stay home more, but he always uses work as an excuse. When she points out that, financially, he does not need to be working as much as he does, it pisses him off and pushes him farther away. He hates when people assume he's living off her money."

Cannon reportedly believes the jobs were necessary because of Carey's lavish lifestyle.

An insider told E! News "She is used to being treated like a princess and waited on hand and foot. Nick treated her that way at first, but then his career took off and his priorities shifted. He thought she had this incredible work ethic, but she's become more like a housewife."

Speculation that Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon were headed for a split after two kids and six years of marriage has been running rampant. Page Six reported that Carey and Cannon have been living apart for months. The "America's Got Talent" host has been living in hotels and the pop diva lives with their twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott.

Cannon confirmed to The Insider magazine on Thursday "There is trouble in paradise ... we have been living in separate houses for a few months. My main focus is my kids."

"Mariah was devastated about the comments Nick made to The Insider," a source tells E! News. "They had agreed to work on a statement together. A joint statement was being prepared when he went and gave those quotes to The Insider."

"She told him she needed to get out of town and she was taking the kids with her. Nick was fine with it. The reports about him being concerned about the welfare of the kids aren't true. If he was worried, the kids wouldn't be with her, period. He thinks she's a good mom."

Gossip speculates that Carey lost her patience when Cannon appeared on Big Boy's radio show in March and named five celebrities he had slept with. Cannon named Kim Kardashian. Cannon was reported as saying "She said to me, 'Oh yeah, by the way could you keep your whore-ish past to yourself if you're doing any interviews?' I was like, 'Got you.'"
