Nokia Lumia 930 Review: Meet The WP 8.1-Powered Handset That Failed To Retain Flagship Status

Announced back in April during the Microsoft BUILD Conference, the Nokia Lumia 930 has been considered and reviewed as the top smartphone that runs the latest Windows Phone 8.1 update.

When the device finally hit the market in late June, a number of Nokia Lumia 930 review articles indeed pointed to it as the best Windows Phone device ever build, though that status may not be too appealing for the handset as there are only more or less a hundred WP handsets, in total.

Still, Nokia prides itself in the hardware it used, and the Lumia 930 is indeed the best smartphone which runs the WP platform.

Unfortunately for the Fins, it looked like HTC may begin exploring its chances in the Windows Phone fence. For the past couple of years, the Taiwanese manufacturer has struggled against its Android competitors including Samsung, LG and Sony, and dozens of local brands from their respective Asian markets.

This time, HTC may be looking at the WP pedestal with the launch of its One M8 for Windows, which is basically the One M8 for Android, though this time the device runs on Microsoft's mobile platform.

While both Nokia and HTC pride themselves as great smartphone designers, we still cannot take away the fact that the HTC One M8's specs are better than the Lumia 930.

The Lumia 930 packs a 5-inch display with Full HD resolution, same as the One M8. Both devices also pack similar specs which include a 2GB RAM, and quad-core CPU. However, that is where similarities end.

While the Nokia handset has a better camera overall, HTC's Duo Camera technology may still impress some people. The One M8 also has a Snapdragon 801 chipset compared to the Snapdragon 800 of the Nokia phone.

The Nokia Lumia 930 is a capable device that would have surely rivaled Android phones easily, but its silightly outdated specs and late release date contributed to its decline as a favorite for the WP top spot.

Once the HTC One M8 for Windows becomes available, it will clearly be the smartphone to beat at least in this mobile platform group.
