Houston Rockets News: Jason Terry Traded By Kings To Rockets, Will Add Experience To Harden-Howard Led Squad

After losing a number of key players during free agency, Houston Rockets have good news before the off-season ends.

According to a report by Bleacher Report, the Rockets have just finalized a deal with the Sacramento Kings that will bring veteran guard Jason Terry to Houston to team up with James Harden and Dwight Howard.

The 36-year-old shooting guard will soon become a Rocket as the two teams are preparing the deal to take place.

While Terry has not been the reliable role player he has been for his prime years in the NBA, he can still add some experience to a very young Houston squad.

Earlier this summer, Houston GM Dary Morey let Chandler Parsons walk after the Mavericks offered him a huge contract of more than $40 million. The team also traded its back up center Omer Asik to the Pelicans, while it offered its sixth man Jeremy Lin to the Lakers in hopes of getting Chris Bosh from Miami, right after LeBron James made his decision.

However, not everything went according to plan as Houston missed Carmelo Anthony in free agency, as well as Bosh. The only notable addition the Rockets have made so far is Trevor Ariza who is coming off a resurgence during his contract year with the Wizards.

In spite the presence of a veteran in Ariza, Houston still needs a backup guard to relieve Harden of his scoring responsibilities whenever he is sitting on the bench.

And that guy could be Jason Terry.

The veteran guard certainly is capable of playing when it matters most, and while he has not been known for his defense, his playmaking and three point shooting skills may be invaluable to Houston, who is desperately needing a fourth scoring option after Harden, Howard and Ariza.

In the report, Houston will allegedly send a number of non-guaranteed contracts to the Kings, including Alonzo Gee. Meanwhile, the Kings are sending two second-round draft picks to the Rockets.
